MBK Launches “Manhood in Action” Fundraising Campaign
Richmond, VA – The mission of My Brother’s Keeper of Greater Richmond is to engage, empower and encourage men in the Richmond Region. MBK knows that when we have better men, we have better fathers. When we have better fathers, we have better families. When we have better families, we have better communities. When we have better communities, everyone benefits.
Since 2009, MBK founder and executive director Stephan “Coach” Hicks has been carrying out the organization’s mission with the help of a handful of dedicated supporters. However, today we are launching a year-long $10,000 fundraising campaign, “Manhood In Action”, so that MBK can continue and expand the programming that is so vital to its mission.
We are kicking off our “Manhood In Action” fundraising campaign with an open house on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at MBK offices, 1618 Hull Street, Richmond, VA 23224. There will be graduates of MBK programs on hand to give brief testimonials, also present will be MBK board members, supporters and representatives of other community organizations.
MBK’s current programming includes Fatherhood training for fathers ages 26+, Suits for Success Workshops for ages 16-30, Mentoring, Job Search Support, Life Skill Development. This year, we are expanding to include Veterans Outreach, Computer Literacy, Financial Literacy and a Men’s Health Fair.
